(86) Temperature Range: 0 - 350°F Heat applied to the bimetallic disc causes the disc to reverse from a concave to a convex position. This reversal of the disc operates a microswitch causing the normally open side to close and the normally closed side to open. When the disc cools, it reverts back to its normal condition, releasing the microswitch and reversing the electrical actions.
(89) Temperature Range: 0 - 600°F The sensing element of the PlugStats is an internal bimetal leaf attached to the end of the probe. The bimetal moves laterally (indicated by the red arrows) with temperature changes moving the actuating spring towards or away from a second, calibrated spring. The distance between the two (the calibration of the setpoint) is adjusted by a calibrating screw.
(41) Temperature Range: 0 - 1750°F Rod and tube switches utilize the differential expansion of two metals to operate the contact mechanism. The high expanding tube pulls the low expanding rod down in the switch, providing travel to cause the switch circuit to change state.
